BEE and Social Investment

WRP is committed to the implementation of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) within its RSA operations. BBBEE is a South African government initiative which aims to facilitate the involvement and participation of all historically disadvantaged individuals in the mainstream economy.

Despite the fact that the BBBEE is focused on specific aspects of empowerment, WRP believes that it is important to create sustainable employment and wealth for every member of staff in the company. In this regard, the company has provided internal training and mentorship to all of its employees, the majority of whom are black South Africans. WRP continues to support further education and provides full financial support for such activities as an investment for the future.

WRP is extremely proud of the level of expertise and management capabilities demonstrated by its new tier of middle management who will soon move into the senior management positions. The company has many black professionals who have been with the company for more than 10 years and who are now running and managing large projects by themselves with support from colleagues only when required.
